Small shrub, 1-2 m high; young shoots pubescent. Leaf simple, alternate; upper leaves lanceolate or elliptic, 3-4 cm wide, 6-7 cm long; tower leaves 3-5-lobed, elliptic-ovate, 7-8 cm wide. 15-18 cm long. Inflorescence unisexual or both sexes in the same inflorescence; male flowers numerous, at the upper part, apetalous, calyx greenish yellow, 4-5; female flowers at the lower part, apetalous. Fruit 3-valved capsule.
Leaf: decoction as purgative; soak in water, take as antiasthmatic. Seed: potent purgative. Roof: boil or grind with water, take as purgative for hard fecal masses, itching with eczema, viscous and green sputum, mucous stool.
